Grades: usually grades 6-7, but acceptance into the class is based on ability not age
Tuition: $680
Rigor Level: High. It’s assumed that each student has study skills, a desire to learn, and a commitment to hard work. This course requires about 2-4 hours of homework per week, depending on the student's study-skill level and math level. The course also includes some in-class math drills and tests, as well as some take-home tests. The homework is mandatory and affects the student's grade. If your child cannot commit to this weekly, please consider a class that better suits his/her needs.
Description: Math Fundamentals class is a year-long core course based on the Singapore Math in Focus Course 1 series which places 6th grade students on track to take Algebra 1 in their 8th grade year (in other words, to be one year advanced in math by high school). 7th graders in the class will be on the same track as public school students and will take Algebra 1 in their freshman year. It is similar to the 'Math Fundamentals' Ms. Weldy teaches and will prepare students for her pre-algebra class next year.
